Frequently Asked Questions

Why hire a professional wedding photographer when I have a family member who could do it for free?

Well, my own wedding is proof of why you want to hire a professional photographer to capture your wedding. Granted, we had an informal and very small (two parents and two guests, one of them the best man, the other one being the "photographer") wedding as funds were low at the time. Our photographer showed up to the ceremony dressed in a long-sleeved, hooded sweatshirt with a scene from "Dungeons & Dragons" printed across the front. The ceremony went off without a hitch, he was taking what appeared to be enough shots to fill an entire wedding album. Well, we did have plenty of photos but the prints we received were overexposed, underexposed, blurry, distorted and not a single one was usable. The only photos we actually have of our wedding day are two images taken before the ceremony as well as the 10 images the professional wedding photographer provided by the wedding chapel took. Up until this day, I want to kick myself for trying to save money by a) hiring a friend and b) picking the less expensive package as the rates the official photographer requested were rather high for our budget. You wouldn't want some random person fly your plane or give you a root canal, or would you? Hire a professional wedding photographer.

What sets you apart from other photographers?

Your wedding is not just another gig for me; for me, photography is an art form and my art is my pride. I strive to be a storyteller, not just a photographer documenting your wedding. I want you to have the best memories of your wedding day. You can expect personal service, a photographer who does not add any stress to your wedding day and, of course, amazing images. I like to fall back, observe and anticipate. Although the center of attention is always the couple, I like to broaden the scope and capture the emotion, expressions and cheers of the families and guests. At the end of the day, you will have a larger and more complete "picture" of your special day.

Do you take formal pictures as well?

Yes, as many or as few as you like.

Do you work in all digital?

Yes. Apart from it now being the industry standard, it is faster (no longer fiddling with rolls of film! and shorter processing time) so you can expect a sneak peek of your wedding photos a couple of days after the wedding on my wedding blog. Digital wedding photography also provides more options and allows me to take more photos than film shooters. I shoot with Nikon cameras & Sigma lenses and I'm always happy to talk about digital wedding photography.

How long until we get to see the pictures?

About three weeks after the wedding, the images of your wedding will be available at an online photo gallery for you to see, share and to print - I find that this makes it easier on the couple as you don't have to take print orders from anybody wanting photos of your day. Within a couple of days after your wedding, I will provide you with a sneak peek on my blog - http://kingdomweddingphotography.blogspot.com

Can we get our wedding photos on a CD?

Yes! CDs of your photos (color corrected, cropped and ready for printing) are included in all wedding packages. You will receive those high resolution .jpeg images burned to CDs approximately three weeks after your wedding. They are yours to print, re-print and enlarge with whichever lab or online service you select for your own private use.

What about wedding albums?

I can create and order beautiful coffee table albums, flush mount albums, gallery wraps and also parent albums for you. There is no rush, enjoy your honeymoon, select your favorite wedding photos and give me a call or send me an email once you're ready to sit down and discuss the design and layout of your wedding album.

Do you require a contract? And what about a retainer (deposit)?

Yes, a signed contract as well as a 20% non-refundable down payment are required to reserve your wedding date.

Which states do you cover?

I cover the states of Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, New York as well as other parts of New England. I'm also more than happy to travel to the location of your choice - local, national or international travel is no problem. If you have any further questions, just get in touch with me.

Do you shoot same sex marriages?

Absolutely yes! I am delighted about the State of Vermont legalizing same sex marriages and would be thrilled to be your wedding photographer.
